Another Summer in the Northwest
A wonderful reunion
Every year
Staring at the acrylic blue sky
On the very first day of June
So peacefully ecstatic that three whole months of the sun lay ahead
Itching to swim
And laugh
And run
In wild rivers
And lush green fields
With all of your friends
Always with friends
Taking a break from growing up
Allowing the belief that youth won't ever leave their bones to roam free
And letting ourselves be dumb for three months
Wishing that the sunshine could be eternal
Sunglasses wearers, who never feel pain
Together forever
Till all of the forests
Dry up and crackle
And the rivers turn silver with the clouds in the sky
A lonely goodbye
Every year
On the first day of September as you lie in the grass
Now yellowed and brown
From the melancholy heat of August
After all your fellow sunglasses wearers have had their fill of the sun
And said their goodbyes
"I'll see you next summer"
"Farewell summer birds"
The things people say at the end of reunions
You think to yourself
So somberly content
With the hope of someone who has yet to see more
"I just can't wait for another summer”

Your hands were wrapped
In winter gloves
That was the time
To fall in love
With scarves of wool
Maroon and gray
Those were the seasons
Those were the days
And now we don our summer clothes and jump into the deep blue sea
With bandages across our chests and pants that don't go past our
Knees
And pants that don't go past our
Knees
When the sun shines
We all will smile
Look way outside
It's been a while
We'll lay on down
And hum this tune
Sleep most of May
Waiting for June
And we will don our summer clothes and jump into the deep blue sea
With bandages across our chests and pants that don't go past our
Knees
And pants that don't go past our
Knees
(ooh's)
It may hurt now
But we all heal
That's how I know
That we are real
I'm sure someday
The sun will shine
And when it does
We'll all feel fine
And we will don our summer clothes and jump into the deep blue sea
With bandages across our chests and pants that don't go past our
Knees
And pants that don't go past our
Knees
Those pants they won't go past our
Knees

And the wonder music plays
In a summertime embrace
From the sky a golden glow
On the green earth down below
Now our hair is long again
Let's go hang with all our friends
(mhmmhmm's)
Cuts and scrapes down on our feet
As we tap em to the beat
Whisper "darling I love you"
Under deep acrylic blue
And our hair is short again
We got three months till it ends
(mhmmhmm's)
ALL THAT YOU TOUCH COMES TO LIFE
SPICY QUESADILLA WIFE
ALL THAT I TOUCH TURNS TO DUST
GETTIN OLD COLLECTING RUST
AND WE DON'T HAVE NO MORE HAIR
BUT THE SUNS OUT WE DON'T CARE
(WOAHOAHWOAH'S)
love the summer, no more bummers (on and on till the summer is over)

"What will we be when we are old"
With sticky hands from popsicles
And eyes so pure from all the skies
We always sing and never cry
And we won't go inside till mother starts a calling
Run around when rain it goes a falling
Look both ways before we go across
And when we dance
Its like nobodies watching
When we dance its like nobodies watching (x4)
Greenish grass stains down our jeans
From climbing all the evergreens
With daisy chains up in our hair
We are too young to ever care
And we won't go inside till mother starts a calling
Run around when rain it goes a falling
Look both ways before we go across
And when we dance
Its like nobodies watching
When we dance its like nobodies watching (x4)
(Ba-baba's)
(Come on in kids, its time to come in now
Come on in kids its time to come in)

youngster ways
02:38
|
|||
well here we are in youngster days
where everybody looks the same
with rolled up jeans and backwards hats
with printed clothes of pretty cats
(doodoodoodoo's)
and starin at the one we like
while pedalin' hard atop our bikes
and drinking all our youngster joys
dreaming of pretty girls and handsome boys
(doodoodoodoo's)
someday the shy girls must stop their hiding
someday the brown boys must stop their writing
sadly someday we must stop our fighting
truth is growing ups not that exciting (x5)
and how we love our youngster ways
though soon we'll all be creaky gray
for now just swim in rivers; free
claiming young's all we'll ever be
(doodoodoodoo's)

Smile at me soft and sweet I
Cannot stop my tappin' feet I
Cannot keep my head on straight I
Gonna see oh just you wait I
When it's winter hope for Summer
Counting down through all the numbers
When it's hot and we get splinters
Sit around and wait for winter
Hangin out it helps the time go slow
With all of the best friends that you know
Hope you have a nice time when you go
To the blistering heat of Mexico
(Oh, oh, oh's)
Getting drunk down by the river
When the waters pure and silver
Till it turns a brighter blue
And we got nothing to do
When your favorite chords all strike now
Sing it out just how you like now
Then the tinies start to play
Dancin until we are gray
Hanging out it helps the time go slow
With all of the best friends that we know
Hope you have nice time when you go
To the blistering heat of Mexico (x2)
Hope you have a nice time when you go
Oh my god I swear I'll miss you so
When you're in the heat of Mexico
(Oh, oh, oh's)

July 1st (Firework Day)
03:35
|
|||
Fireworks in the sky
At the summers halfway goodbye
Makes those shy kids all cry
Makes me wish I never die
Fireworks are so cool
Sunny work days and no dumb school
Makes those grown ups all sigh
Cause its so pretty and they don't know why
Fireworks in the sky
At the summers halfway goodbye
Makes those shy kids all cry
Makes me hope I never die
Feel the grass with your feet
Thinkin how this life is so sweet
With that sun and deep blue
So much stuff you don't need to do
Just let the hot sun beat down
And turn your skin a nicer brown
Maybe pink if your white
But that don't matter when there's
Fireworks in the sky
At the summers halfway goodbye
Makes those shy kids all cry
Makes me hope I never die
Singing laidaidai
I hope I never die, die, die, die
Laidaidai
Please never let me die, die, die ,die
(I won't let the history of the U.S.A ruin fireworks for me even on one day)
(Fireworks are so damn pretty even if the U.S.A is shitty)
(Fireworks are the best even if you don't like the U.S)

Otro Verano
03:02
|
|||
Y ahora el medio del album
Una cancion corta y dulce
Sobre el verano pasando como el viento en mi pelo
El sol disfrutado por viejos y jovenes lo mismo
Y una poema escrito por Iro y la luna
Gracias amigos
El Verano siempre es un placer
La luz brillante alli en el cielo
Quien suavemente
Deshace el hielo
La luna canta
En esa noche
Andando en bici
En vez de coche
Mando un mensaje
Lleno de amor
Vamos de viaje
A Ecuador
Paises lindos
De los latinos
Tan diferente
Tambien lo mismo
Jugando juegos
Con amiguitos
Tomando tragos
Despues del brindo
De alli nadamos
En ese rio
Bajo las nubes
Y los sonidos de los pio, pio's
De los pajaritos
Bajo los pio pio's
De los pajaritos del verano
Otro verano pasa

You like champagne while
I'm chugging whiskey
Im passin out but
You're only tipsy
You love the rain yeah
Run round in cold
I prefer sun don't
Wanna grow old
woahwoahwoahwo-old x2
I like the sun don't
Wanna grow old
You drive your car fast
I take my bike slow
You're great at parties
Not open mic though
Cause that is my thing
I sing alone
And then get plastered
When I home
When I get home x2
Im gonna be plastered
When I get home
Yeah I get home
Oh all alone
And then get plastered
When I get home
And Im so sorry
You're gonna hate me
But it's just better
If I set you free
Ill see you someday
Maybe in summer
You will be smarter
But I just get dumber
Oh by the summer
I will be dumber
You gettin smarter
I gettin dumber
Each passing summer
It seems Im dumber
You aways smarter
I always dumber
Whats two plus two?
I never knew
What colors the sky?
Don't think it's blue
And who's the president?
I just don't know
This life goes so fast
And I think so slow
(Whoawhoawhoawho-o
Oh yeah its slow
This life goes so fast
And I think so slow) x2

Till 3am I did not sleep
Your favorite movie on repeat
Just watched it and tried not to weep
Your favorite movie on repeat
And then at 4am I wrote some lines
Just hoping its some peace I'd find
A little drunk off Rosé wine
To bask in the sunshine of a spotless mind
I just want the sunshine of a spotless mind
I just want the sunshine of a spotless mind
Oh please won't you give me that spotless mind
The eternal sunshine of my spotless mind
You've been in love now twice so far
Another nice guy who plays guitar
He strums it loud at our parties
While Im passin out from the bacardi
I love passing out from the bacardi
So I don't have to hear his voice so sweet
He sings it loud at our parties
And I feel just like a Jim Carrey
And at 4am Ill scream these lines
Just hopin its some peace I find
Oh so so drunk off Rosé wine
To bask in the sunshine of my spotless mind
I just want the sunshine of a spotless mind
The eternal sunshine of a spotless mind
I just want the sunshine of a spotless mind
Oh Rosé please give me that spotless mind

August 1st (Laundry Day)
03:30
|
|||
lately i don't dance much anymore
lately everything is such a bore
lately i don't really even sing
lately i don't do much of anything
lately i just lay home in my bed
think about how all the grass is dead
think about how all those leaves will change
soon as the august heat goes away
lately i just lay in bed i'm lazy
lately i've just been so fuckin lazy (x2)
lately i dont talk much anymore
lately i dont wake up until four
lately i dont do much at all
lately i dont pick up when my friends call
lately i just lay in bed and think
watch all of the skies go blue to pink
watch all of the flies go across my wall
feels like i'm just waiting for the fall
lately i'm just lazy
lately i've been lazy (x2)
and maybe its the heat
maybe its my sheets
maybe its just me
ill do some laundry
(on and on until the laundry is done)
(or you feel better)
(whichever comes first)

Sunglasses Wearers
02:53
|
|||
Sweet talking devil
Snakes blood in their veins
Sunglasses wearers
Clearly don't know pain
Just follows those streets
To friday night lights
They know the right words
To get what they like
Must be a nice life, they've got a nice life
Must be a nice life, they've got a sweet life
They've got a nice life, must be a nice life
To know the right words, and to look so nice
"I'm pretty cool man"
"I don't have no plan"
"Let's get out baby"
"Blow this ice cube stand"
"You're like an angel"
"From way up above"
"And now were kissing"
"So this must be love"
"SO THIS MUST BE LOVE" (x6)
Our lips are together
So it must be love
And in the morning
Nowhere to be found
Hopped on the next train
Skipped to the next town
A change of number
It's such a damn shame
Sunglasses wearers
Clearly don't know pain
IT'S SUCH A SAD LIFE (x6)
To say you love them
Oh just for one night
Let the sun in
Feel the sweet rays
Life is so cool
With some nice shades
Just what I need
All that I want
Wouldn't it be nice
To have no heart
|
||||
13. |
||||
You say that you like to go
Just so you can come home
Just so you can come home
Again
Personally I'd rather stay
To watch the golden skies go gray
When the blistering heat of summer comes to an end
An end
And everybody says goodbyes
With heartfelt hugs and tearstained eyes
Watching all those planes fly through the skies
Me? I like to sit at home
And dream of better days alone
Waitin for you to call me on the phone
The phone
Oh call me on the phone
We'll talk for hours all alone
Please talk my ear off on the phone
Oh on the phone
The phone
Singin
Ill see you next summer
And ill see you next summer (x3)
Again (x9)

September 1st
02:36
|
|||
When the grass was so green
And we had long hair
We'd throw all that tree smoke
Into the nice air
Then we'd go and get drunk
And make our way home
Wake up with your best friend
You can't feel alone
Now we just sit around
Wait for October
Let's talk in the morning
When I am sober
And how I miss my old voice
When I was a young kid
Never got a sore throat
From all the blunt hits
When the river ran blue
And we got iced tea
Even though were flat broke
Nothing in life's free
You would tell that one joke
That made the white kids
Laugh and dance through their streets
Atop their nice kicks
Now I just sit around
Wait for October
Call you in the morning
When I'm hungover
Throw a little tree smoke
Into the gray sky
All of my friends left me
And I don't know why
Now the grass has no green
And we just sit here
Watch the forest burn down
Into the nice air
Say bye to your last friend
Oh for the tenth time
Give em one more big hug
And a small goodbye
Then hunker yourself down
Wait for October
June 1rst was a sweet time
But now its over
Wish that you could wake up
Oh with your best friend
Every single summer, has such a chill end (x5)

Epilogue: Another Summer
03:19
|
|||
Another summer goes away
Away
Away
And all the clear blue skies turn gray
Turn gray
They turn gray
While all that sun gets passed to leaves
It leaves
It leaves
Turns into golden brown on trees
On trees
On trees
Another summer flies up high
The birds say bye
And all your friends just smile and sigh
"So long"
"Goodbye"
Another summer passed away
Someday I'll gray
Wether you're young or old you say
"Ok"
"Ok"
"Here comes the fall and I'm feeling old man"
"Here comes the leaves and I'm feeling old man"
"Here comes the fall and I'm feeling old man"
"I'm getting cold and I got no plan"
Another summer caught the breeze
Say cheese
Oh please
Won't you just stay for one more day
No way
Jose
This life is fleeting I would love
Some time
Sunshine
But every summer goes, its true
No blue
For you
(No blue for you's and mmm's)
